Book of Days

Greenfield Community College One College Drive, Greenfield, MA, United States

Join us for GCC's spring theater performance of Book of Days by Lanford Wilson, directed by Tom Geha. Part comedy, drama and mystery! When murder roars through a small Missouri town in 1998, Ruth Hoch begins her own quest to find truth and honesty amid small town jealousies, religion, greed and lies. This tornado of a play propels you through its events like a page-turning mystery and proves that there are no small roles in life. "An intriguing, prismatic and thoroughly engrossing depiction of contemporary small-town life with a murder mystery at its core... a splendid evening of theater" — Variety "Fascinating… a densely populated, unpredictable little world intriguing characters who touch each other’s lives through an elaborate series of connections… Above all, there’s the language… You could go to the theater night after night and never hear language so supple." — St. Louis Post-Dispatch. $15 general admission, $5 students/seniors. Local Author Reading with Patti Williams

Greenfield Public Library 412 Main St, Greenfield, MA, United States

Kids can meet local author Patti Williams and hear her read from her chapter book Fur and Feathers Together: A Tale of the Highland Woods.  The story is about courageous woodland creatures that unite and fight to stop the pollution of their water supply. They are aided by uppity pet dogs, a loud mouthed macaw, and a very flirty red hen. This book was inspired by many years of walking dogs in the beauty of the Highland Woods of Greenfield. For more information, contact Ellen Lavoie at [email protected] or call (413) 772-1544 x5104.  This program, made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for ages 7 - 10.
