Open House Retirement Celebration for Library Director Ellen Boyer

On Wednesday, June 28, an Open House Retirement Celebration will be held for Library Director Ellen Boyer at the John Zon Community Center from 6-8pm. Join members of the Greenfield Public Library’s staff, Trustees, Foundation, and Friends in thanking Ellen for her years of service and dedication to the community including her accomplishment in establishing Greenfield’s first purpose-built library. All are welcome to attend this open house. Refreshments will be available.

Author Talk: Nancy Horan in an Online Conversation with Therese Fowler

Join authors Nancy Horan and Therese Fowler as they discuss Nancy’s new book, The House of Lincoln, on Wednesday, June 28 at 7 pm via Zoom. Rich with historical detail, The House of Lincoln is an insightful account of Lincoln's transformative vision for democracy as observed through the eyes of a young immigrant who arrives in Lincoln's home of Springfield, Illinois from Madeira, Portugal. In addition to her new book, Nancy Horan has two previous historical novels available: Loving Frank and Under the Wide and Starry Sky. Therese Anne Fowler is the New York Times bestselling author of It All Comes Down ToThis , A Good Neighborhood, A Well-Behaved Woman, and Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald. Author Talk with Tananarive Due: “The Living Blood” and Other Works

Please join us for a gripping virtual chat with Tananarive Due about her body of work, on Wednesday, June 28, at 8 pm. Due’s prolific body of work cements the author as a leading voice in black speculative fiction for more than 20 years. Due is an award-winning writer, educator, and producer. Her work includes sixteen books, including The Blood Colony, The Living Blood, The Good House, Joplin’s Ghost, Devil’s Wake, and the forthcoming The Reformatory. In addition, she is a contributing author of Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda and Black Panther: Sins of the King. Collaborating with her partner Steven Barnes, she also co-wrote "A Small Town" for Season 2 of Jordan Peele’s "The Twilight Zone" on Paramount Plus and two segments of Shudder’s anthology film Horror Noire.
