Greenfield Public Library 412 Main St, Greenfield, MA, United States

Join Greenfield Community College and The Greenfield Public Library on Thursday, September 22, at 6 pm, for the virtual Kick Off of the 2nd Annual Reading for Change: A Community Read Project. This fall we are reading Callings: The Purpose and Passion of Work by Dave Isay, the founder of StoryCorps. Callings is a fascinating, edited, collection of interviews organized around the theme of work, emphasizing “stories of passion, courage, and commitment, following individuals as they pursue the work they were born to do.” Because of its focus on storytelling, careers, meaning, purpose, and creating a life that is worth living, Callings has wide-ranging applications for a variety of contexts. As part of the Reading for Change program there will be three virtual community events, starting with the virtual Kickoff Event on September 22. The event will include introductions, an overview of the project and a discussion about the importance of considering our relationship to work at this historical moment. Copies of the book are available at the Greenfield Public Library. For more information, and to register for the Zoom link, visit: https://www.gcc.mass.edu/events/reading-for-change-kickoff-event/ This event, sponsored by Greenfield Community College, the Greenfield Public Library and The Friends of the Greenfield…
