Deerhoof is a peculiar indie group. Highly fun. 30 years old (not the band members, the band). Ekko Astral, a bubblegum noise punk band from Washington DC, was formed in 2021 by Jael Holzman (vocals, lyrics, guitar) and Liam Hughes (lead guitar). The group quickly gained popularity in the DIY scene, expanding to include Miri Tyler (drums), Guinevere Tully (bass), and Sam Elmore (rhythm guitar). Praised by Paste Magazine for their DC punk spirit, Ekko Astral is set to release their debut LP in 2024, showcasing their unique blend of no-wave art rock and infectious, high-energy performances.
