Relay for Life of Franklin County

Franklin County Fairgrounds 89 Wisdom Way, Greenfield

Event Details Welcome to the Relay For Life Community! We Celebrate our Survivors, Remember those we have lost, and Fight Back as a community to end cancer. As a Relayer, we want to share some details to make your first Relay experience the best possible. What Is Relay For Life? Relay For Life is the world's largest volunteer-based fundraising event. For more then 36 years, communities across the world have come together to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change. We strive to make this event as safe as possible and will follow local COVID related guidelines. At Relay For Life you'll find community members taking turns walking around a track lined with luminaria bags. You'll have the opportunity to cheer for local survivors (or participate as a survivor) in our first lap of the day. Caregivers of cancer patients (currently or previously diagnosed) will then be invited to join the Survivors. Local entertainers will keep you energized. As it gets dark, we will light the luminaria bags surrounding the track in a memorable luminaria ceremony. There will be opportunities to fundraise & fight back! Jeanines / Luxor Rentals / OOF

10 Fiske Ave 10 Fiske Avenue, Greenfield

Come out for a night of indiepop, indie rock/psychedelia, and post-punk! Jeanines specialize in ultra-short bursts of energetic but melancholy minor-key pop. With influences that run deep into the most crucial tributaries of DIY pop, they've crafted a style that is as individual as it is just plain pleasurable. Alicia Jeanine's pure, unaffected voice muses wistfully on the illusions of time, while My Teenage Stride/Mick Trouble mastermind Jed Smith's frantic Motown-esque drumming and inventive bass playing provide a thrilling rhythmic foundation. Luxor Rentals make loose, jangling psychedelia formed around each member's own ideas about what rock music actually rocks (Poco/early Verve/Curt Boettcher/The Church/VU are frequently discussed). Their bunker is in Orange, MA, but they can be found playing sporadically around the Pioneer Valley. OOF is a post-punk trio of baritone sax/guitar/drums featuring former members of Rathaus, Pelvi$$, The Duke of Uke & His Novelty Orchestra, and Famous Logs in History. Their most recent tape, ""What's Bad is Good,"" is out now from Fuzzy Warbles Cassettes. They live in Brooklyn and Amsterdam, NY.
