Local Authors at the GPL: Joan Livingston
Local Authors at the GPL: Joan Livingston
The Greenfield Public Library welcomes local author Joan Livingston on Wednesday, May 29 at 6:00 pm, to discuss her seventh novel in the Isabel Long Mystery Series, Missing the Deadline. Joan Livingston, author of novels for adult and young readers, is a longtime journalist who worked her way up from being a correspondent paid by the inch to editor-in-chief for award-winning newspapers in Western Massachusetts and New Mexico. Her most recent gig was top editor for the Greenfield Recorder, Athol Daily News, and Daily Hampshire Gazette. She left journalism in 2022 to concentrate on writing fiction. Livingston draws upon her own experience as a journalist to create Isabel Long, a sassy, savvy widow who uses the skills she acquired in the same business to solve cold cases in the fictional hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. She relies on her deep knowledge of rural Western Mass., where she lives in Buckland, to create realistic characters and settings. Most of her 14 books published thus far are set in that part of the state. She is currently working on the eighth in her mystery series plus a young adult novel. Copies of her book will be available for purchase. This event is free…
