The universe is huge! The light from the farthest galaxy discovered by the James Webb telescope started its journey when there were no humans, or dinosaurs, or the Earth, or the Sun, or even our galaxy, the Milky Way. This light was emitted 13.5 billion years ago. But here we are—in Massachusetts. The enormous scales of the universe render the local importance factually obsolete, but we know about our own significance through the amazing application of curiosity.
