Greenfield Recycling Program Information Session
Greenfield Public Library 412 Main St, Greenfield, MA, United StatesSean Kelleher, Greenfield’s SWIFR Recycling Outreach Coordinator, will be at the Greenfield Public Library to provide information and answer questions about the City’s new recycling program. Greenfield is rolling out a new recycling program in 2025! Switching to automated single stream recycling collection, all recyclables, including cardboard, will go into one large cart—no more sorting! These new carts are on wheels and super easy to push to the curb on recycling days. To hear more information about this recycling transition stop by and learn all about how it works! This Information Session is free and intended for Greenfield residents.
Homeworks Energy Information Session
Greenfield Public Library 412 Main St, Greenfield, MA, United StatesWould you like to make your home more energy-efficient and sustainable? Representatives from Homeworks Energy will be at the Greenfield Public Library on Tuesday, May 20, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, and Thursday, May 29, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. In partnership with the Mass Save program and local advocates, Homeworks Energy aims to help local residents lower their utility bills and reduce the carbon footprint of their homes. They are not selling products; instead they will share valuable information about Mass Save and encourage residents to schedule a No-Cost Home Energy Assessment. This assessment provides access to exclusive rebates and incentives such as 100% off air sealing, 75%-100% off insulation, and rebates on energy-efficient appliances. This Information Session is free and open to everyone in our community.
Garden Rock Painting (drop-in)

Drop in Scrabble Night

Players of all experience levels are welcome, as the focus is on having fun! Games start at 4:30 and 5:30 pm. Drop-In Knitting & Crochet

All skill levels are welcome, whether you’re new with needles and hooks, or an old pro. Bring your own supplies, and enjoy some time working on your project while connecting with other crafters. Toddler Time with Ellen Lavoie

Planning for Medicare with Heather Hurd

Led by a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts representative, this presentation is tailored for individuals approaching Medicare eligibility. Topics include an explanation of Medicare, the Medicare enrollment timeline, Medigap and Medicare Advantage plans, and programs available to early retirees. This session is ideal for individuals in your community who may still be working and looking to transition to Medicare. Personal Growth Book Group

This newest community-member-led library book group will meet monthly to discuss a great read across a spectrum of personal growth topics, from productivity to relationships to living in harmony with the natural world. Wednesday Night Writers Workshop
Greenfield Public Library 412 Main St, Greenfield, MA, United StatesWriters are invited to attend a weekly informal gathering on Wednesday nights at 6 pm, in the GPL Local History Room, to workshop their prose and poetry in-progress. Everyone is welcome to bring three single-spaced or six double-spaced pages max and enough copies so that everyone can read along and provide feedback. Writers will take turns reading their work aloud, with a volunteer moderator leading the discussion. Writers aren’t allowed to talk while being critiqued. All ages and skill levels are welcome, for both casual and serious games. Chess instruction is available for beginners, and anyone wanting to learn the game. Chess sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own! This program is free and open to all, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
