Would you like to connect to yourself and your community more deeply at this time? Would you like to rediscover who you really are in this changing world? Come join us in the Makerspace on Monday, April 14 and 28 at 6:15 pm, with others exploring their own personal arts expression in fun workshops made for these times. These  workshops are presented by Rosie Fanale, a focusing trainer who has practiced focusing since 1990. Focusing is a practice of mindful self awareness designed by Eugene Gendlin, used in Community wellness programs and creativity programs as well as in coaching and psychotherapy practices since around 1970. The 2025 Poet’s Seat Contest finalists will read their submissions from the three contest categories: Adult, Youth (Ages 12-14), and Youth (Ages 15-18), and winners in each category will be announced.  This contest draws poets from across Franklin County. Join us in the Greenfield Public Library’s Local History Room on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 5:00 pm for “Community Conversations 413”,  a casual weekly conversation group for English Language Learners. "Community Conversations 413" is a student-run initiative designed to support English language learners by providing informal English conversation practice in a friendly environment. This program is open to both teens and adults. The name 'Community Conversations 413' reflects our belief that sharing our differences through dialogue enriches our community. By engaging in meaningful conversations, we can become more well-rounded individuals. This initiative focuses on supporting English Language Learners in our community by engaging them in meaningful English centered conversations. Wednesday Night Writers Workshop

Writers are invited to attend a weekly informal gathering on Wednesday nights at 6 pm, in the GPL Local History Room, to workshop their prose and poetry in-progress. Everyone is welcome to bring three single-spaced or six double-spaced pages max and enough copies so that everyone can read along and provide feedback. Writers will take turns reading their work aloud, with a volunteer moderator leading the discussion. Writers aren’t allowed to talk while being critiqued. This program, made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for ages 12 and up.

The Western Massachusetts Master Gardener Association (WMMGA) will be at the Greenfield Public Library to answer questions and offer pH soil testing. Bring a sample of soil to learn what your garden needs to flourish! For information on collecting soil samples , see “How to Test Your Soil” on their homepage at https://wmmga.org/   The Western Massachusetts Master Gardener Association (WMMGA) is a member-managed nonprofit organization dedicated to the educational mission of promoting good and sustainable gardening practices. Each Master Gardener has completed an in-depth training program, including hands-on activities in gardening and public education, and has made a commitment to participate in WMMGA-sponsored public programs each year. WMMGA is an Affiliate of the national Master Gardener program of the American Horticultural Society. This program, free and open to the public, is a rain or shine event.
