In addition to our member-donated plant sale, our vendors will be selling plants, crafts and local maple syrup. Joining us will be Black Jungle, Checkerspot Farm, Iron Arts, Sarah Adam Painted Slate, Sue Carlson Vintage Fabric Designs, Karen's Krafty Corner, Ed Johnson's Leyden Maple Syrup, Martha Thompson Plants, and Nannette Rolstad Quilling. In addition to member-baked goods, we will have items from Rise Above Bakery in Greenfield and Sweet Lucy's Bakery in Bernardston. Come early for best selection! All proceeds to benefit our community grant program.

Feng Shui in Your Garden

Guest speaker Helen Merena of Brattleboro, VT, will be introducing the four basic Feng Shui principles and how they can be used to enhance your garden. Helen is a graduate of the Silver Moon School of Feng Shui in Brattleboro, Vermont, and is a certified Feng Shui practitioner. She is excited to share her knowledge with attendees. Bus Trip to High Line in NYC
Join the Greenfield Garden Club for a wonderful and memorable day trip to walk the High Line in NYC, featuring the incredible plantings of famous Dutch Garden Designer Piet Oudolf. We will be departing the South Deerfield Commuter Lot at 7:00AM sharp. For lunch, visit Chelsea Market, between 15th and 16th Streets, which features a wide variety of cuisines as well as other interesting vendors. Enjoy walking the beautiful High Line and visit Hudson Yard to admire the Vessel, and stop in at Pier 55, (Little Island/the Floating Park) which are both located on the Hudson River waterfront. Drop off/pick-up will be at the southern end of the High Line, near the Whitney Museum, so if you'd like to spend the day in the museum, that's fine too. (The Whitney Museum and Chelsea Market are both good back-ups in the event of driving rain, but gardeners will not be deterred by a little rain!)
Resilient Greenfield Organizing Party 5/5, 2-5pm LAVA
The LAVA Center 324 Main Street, Greenfield, MA, United StatesResilient Greenfield is a new way to shift from climate crisis avoidance, distraction, aimless talk or symbolic action to community-based, results-oriented organizing and project work. Join us for an afternoon of music, food, conversation and community building at The LAVA Center. Bring an instrument, potluck food, and/or your ideas to answer, "What can we do together in response to the climate crisis?" After the fun (3:30ish), we'll talk to climate experts, organizers and nonprofits about how to make Greenfield more resilient to climate impacts, ending with an open conversation about visions and next steps for Resilient Greenfield. Houseplants 101 with Danielle Lucier
Greenfield Public Library 412 Main St, Greenfield, MA, United StatesIn this workshop Danielle will be going over house plant care- including how to choose plants based on your lighting, where to go for purchasing plants, and how to care for them once you get them home. She will also review different types of propagation, types of soil and potting mediums, and how to choose what’s best for each plant in your collection. There will also be some time for Q&A so feel free to bring any questions regarding your plants or some photos of plants you’d like some advice on! Danielle Lucier is a Greenfield native who’s been working with plants since childhood. Growing up with two garden-loving grandmothers, she’s always had an interest in caring for plants and learning how to make them grow to their greatest potential. She has worked as a nursery head at a local exotic plants greenhouse for over 3 years, and owns her own indoor plant consultation business called Danielle.Grows, where she helps folks find the perfect plants for their spaces and learn how to take care of them. She’s also built a personal plant collection of over 280 species of rare plants over the last 14 years that she tends to daily.
Greenfield Garden Club 2024 Garden Tour
The Greenfield Garden Club's 2024 Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, June 8th, with a rain date of June 9th. This year's self-guided tour features many lovely private gardens in Greenfield. Refreshments and a small plant sale are available along the way. The Tour will run from 10 AM until 4:00 PM. Tickets are $10 per person and will be on sale the morning of the Tour from 9:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the John Zon Center located at 35 Pleasant Street in Greenfield. Please come and bring a friend! (Please leave your pets at home to respect the private gardens.)
