Adapted from the 1899 stage play Sherlock Holmes is based on the stories A Scandal in Bohemia, the Final Problem and A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle. Once though lost, the film was rediscovered in 2014. When a couple of scammers hold young Alice Faulkner against her will to discover the whereabouts of letters whose dissemination could cause a scandal affecting the royal family, Sherlock Holmes decides to take over the case. (Considered lost, a copy was found in 2014, in the vaults of the Cinémathèque Française.) A Performance by Sarah the Fiddler (Senior Symposia)
GCC Main Campus 1 College Dr, GreenfieldSarah Michel—Sarah the Fiddler—will display her passion for music by performing songs influenced by Old Time, Irish, World and Classical music. Michel will treat her audience to fiddle music from a wide variety of genres that include old-time sing-alongs, lively polkas and rousing reels. Although Michel has performed with numerous orchestras, bands, and theater groups, she will entertain the symposium audience with a solo, high-energy show that features her unique style and sound and is guaranteed to delight. Sarah Michel began her musical journey at the age of 4 when she started violin lessons using the Suzuki Method. By the age of 6, she was introduced to fiddle music and began competing in fiddle contests all over New England. She won hundreds of competitions as was known as “the girl with the little red hat.” Her fiddle was given to her by New England fiddler Willie “Uncle Willie” Lapman and carries a history of over 200 years of song.
