Jennifer Vanilla (Nyc) Feat. Elsa, Pussyvision, Dj Pinky Promise
About This Event
Jennifer Vanilla is the fantasy vessel and avatar-cultivation experiment LARPed into reality by Becca Kauffman, a performer and social practice artist based in New York City. Jennifer Vanilla is a noun, a verb, and an adjective all at once. Genre-fluid by design, JV is an all-purpose, multi-use substance well-suited to both analog and digital realms. From music, art, and nightclub spaces like MoMA PS1, Bowery Ballroom, Bossa Nova Civic Club, and Elsewhere; to everyday places like public parks, natural landscapes, your neighborhood bar, and an undergarments shop in Burlington, VT; to web and broadcast-based experiences via the Earthcams of Times Square and The Jennifer Vanilla Hour on Queens Public Television; to formal musical releases with producer Brian Abelson, Jennifer Vanilla functions as an ecstatic compliment to the social complexities and emotional challenges of daily life. Their album, Castle in the Sky, is out now on Sinderlyn Records. @jennifervanilla

Pussyvision: Divine experimental electronics from W Mass. More than just exp. electronics actually, PUSSYVISION falls somewhere between that broad genre and the also broad genre of performance art. Incorporating spoken word, and soundmaking, and god only knows what else into their aural concoction. This is exciting and visceral music that in previous years we in these parts may have more generally associated with the underground of Providence. Unleashed. Unyeilding. And full bumps in the night for grabbing onto, take me for a ride.
