About This Event

“TINA” Film Screening: Shining a Light on Domestic Violence
Hosted by: New England Learning Center for Women in Transition (NELCWIT)
Entry Fee: sliding scale $0-20, no one turned away for lack of funds
Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking event in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. NELCWIT is proud to present a special screening of the acclaimed documentary film “TINA,” accompanied by a series of activities aimed at raising awareness around domestic violence and supporting survivors in our community.
We’ll be screening “TINA”, a powerful documentary that explores the life, career, and resilience of the legendary Tina Turner. Her story is one of strength, survival, and triumph over adversity. Tina was an outspoken survivor and we share this film in honor of her life and legacy.
As part of our commitment to supporting survivors, we will be hosting a raffle with exciting prizes from local businesses and a sliding scale bake sale. Funds raised during this event will go directly toward providing vital support and resources to survivors in our community.
Throughout the event, we will have educational materials and displays aimed at raising awareness about domestic violence. Learn about the services NELCWIT offers and how we can help survivors on their journey to safety and healing!
We are dedicated to ensuring that this event is accessible and safe for all attendees. Our measures include:
Closed Captioning: The film screening will have closed captioning for those who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
Virtual Participation: If you prefer to participate virtually, an online option will be available.
Masking Policy: To prioritize the safety of all attendees, we will enforce a masking policy honoring the request of our disabled and/or immunocompromised community members
Trauma-Informed Staff: Trained staff will be on-site to provide emotional support and assistance to anyone who may need it during the event.
Join us for an evening of film, community, and support as we come together to shine a light on domestic violence and the strength of survivors. Mark your calendars, invite your friends and family, and stand with us in solidarity against domestic violence!
NELCWIT is the domestic and sexual violence crisis center of Franklin County and the North Quabbin area. NELCWIT’s mission is to work within the community to build safety, justice, and dignity for all.
