Deep Dive: Virginie Despentes! with Sierra Dickey

Writing class war with a queer-punk-hard-femme lens. Immerse into the works and aesthetics of french queer punk lesbian icon Virginie Despentes. Virginie Despentes is the author of multiple novels, a film, and a small book of feminist theory. All of her work explores race, class, and gender violence in France through criminal underworlds and cultural margins. In this workshop we will read excerpts of her works and generate new work inspired by her style, scope, and political thrust. Expect to spend half of class discussing, and half of class doing collaborative writing prompts.
