September Media Sale CDs, DVDs & Book Bins September 6th- 8th Roundabout Hello Everyone! Our September sale is ready! $2 Friday; $1 over the weekend, in our classic pattern. The product is diverse and excellent, with more DVDs and books, but a substantial number of CDs, as well. Books in our bins will be 50 cents, even on Friday--priced to go home with you. All books, CDs, DVDs, everything are fresh since last sale. Labor History This Month I heard on the the radio that half of the country is traveling over the Labor Day Holiday weekend. Hopefully they are all coming here! (Western Mass is very nice.) We'll be open on the holiday at both stores. It is also a great time to take a look at our collection of books on the history (and continuing mission) of organized labor in the United States and beyond. One of our perennial favorites, which we have freshly in stock, is The Gritty Berkshires, which is both a people's history and a local history, a book recommended by our longtime trucking partner and literary friend, Don Wheeler. We also stock some titles that get to the interrelationship between the work of organizing…

The universe is huge! The light from the farthest galaxy discovered by the James Webb telescope started its journey when there were no humans, or dinosaurs, or the Earth, or the Sun, or even our galaxy, the Milky Way. This light was emitted 13.5 billion years ago. But here we are—in Massachusetts. The enormous scales of the universe render the local importance factually obsolete, but we know about our own significance through the amazing application of curiosity.

We're ready for our big media sale! This one is shaping up to be a big storm of media. I just picked up a store closeout from the Berkshires, and with it received a voluminous collection of vinyl. We should have at least 50 boxes of vinyl records, including 3-4 full boxes of 45s. We will use our perennial and favorite pattern of selling all our CDs, DVDs, and Records for $2 each on Friday, and then reducing them to just $1 each starting on Saturday morning. Book bins will be 50 cents throughout the sale. It looks like we'll have a lot of bins, at least 10, but maybe as many as 20 gaylord bins to shop through. We'll sell our 45s at 50 cents through the sale, too, just like they were books, but they're 45s--what a deal! $1 SALE: Saturday, October 5th - Sunday, October 6th, 10am - 6pm $2 PRESALE DAY: Friday, October 4th, 10am - 6pm $1 DVDs and DVD sets $1 CDs and CD sets $1 Audiobooks $1 Vinyl Records 50 Cent 45s Thousands of CDs and DVDs, all fresh inventory Large collection of vinyl records from a store closeout--50 or so boxes ~10-20…

During this fun and adventurous workshop we will explore and experiment with painting outdoors. We will begin with a few short demos in the studio and then head outdoors to set up. Tina will be available to help with set ups and getting started. Painting watercolors outdoors can be challenging, but we will approach it freely using our attention and materials to capture what interests us. We begin with simple pencil lines to define our compositions to help stay focused when looking out at unending space. We can then do some quick studies to get a feel for things; what colors to mix, how the paint dries quicker, the light continuously changes, etc. After that we will select a final composition and begin to work on a full painting. Watercolor painting materials will be provided (paper, paints, mixing tray, brushes), or you are free to bring your own. You will need to bring the additional supplies for your outdoor set up. Specific location directions, and outdoor supply list, will be provided after registration.
