Join the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library for the 33rd Annual Poet’s Seat Poetry Contest celebration on Tuesday, April 23 at 6 pm, in the GPL Community Meeting Room. The 2023 Poet’s Seat Contest finalists and winners will read their winning submissions from the three contest categories: Adult, Youth (Ages 12-14), and Youth (Ages 15-18). This contest draws poets from across Franklin County. We hope you can join us to hear their work and applaud their voices. Wednesday Night Writers Workshop

Writers are invited to attend a weekly informal gathering on Wednesday nights at 6 pm, in the GPL Local History Room, to workshop their prose and poetry in-progress. Everyone is welcome to bring three single-spaced or six double-spaced pages max and enough copies so that everyone can read along and provide feedback. Writers will take turns reading their work aloud, with a volunteer moderator leading the discussion. Writers aren’t allowed to talk while being critiqued. This program, made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for ages 12 and up.
