Summer at Artspace – art workshops for kids & teens

A Woman Under Pressure: A Cartoon Exhibit and Gallery Talk with Andrea CK
The LAVA Center 324 Main Street, Greenfield, MA, United StatesDuring our regular gallery hours: Friday 5-8pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. artist’s statement: Thousands of hours of therapy and all I have to show for it is 26 cartoons: a human lemonade stand offering the bitter/sweet insights of one woman’s stand against tragedy. Come! Celebrate! Commisserate! Free potato chips! The woman herself, Andrea CK, will be on hand Saturday at 11am to explain to you the origins of her pressure.
Greenfield Arts Walk
Downtown Court Square, Greenfield, MA, United StatesOn every last Friday of the month downtown Greenfield comes alive in a celebration of the local arts scene! The Greenfield Arts Walk is a town-wide event featuring a cohort of local arts organizations including Madhouse Multi-Arts, Hawks & Reed, and Greenfield Gallery to name a few. The Arts Walk's mission is to grow the local creative community and economy by attracting interest from beyond the region while strengthening the connections within. During the Arts Walk, many featured destinations showcase work submitted by local artists, providing them with an excellent opportunity to gain a stronger local following and sell their work.
Handicraft Social
Greenfield Gallery 231 Main St, GreenfieldPresenting the monthly Handicraft Social which we’ll be hosting on the final Friday of the month at 5pm! Join us at 231 Main Street during the Arts Walk for a relaxed night of adult (18+ please) crafting and chatting. Bring something fun to do with your hands, be it knitting, sewing, drawing, sculpting, or any other project you can take along with you! Bring whatever tools/supplies you need, as this event is downstairs in the gallery and we won’t have access to the tools in the makerspace. This event is BYOB–Bring Your Own Beverage. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic are welcome. We hope to see you there!
Collage Club at Looky Here

No experience is necessary to participate and open to all ages! All collage materials will be provided or you can bring your own. We will meet from 1-3 pm. Tickets for this event are $10 each class. The Art of Collage and Play – FREE ART SATURDAY!

The Art of Collage and Play August 9th, 10am-12pm, with Alejandra Spruill UPSTAIRS** Art Room Recommended for ages 14yo+ Come cut, tear, layer, and explore in The Art of Collage and Play—where there are no rules, just materials, curiosity, and time to create. This session is about freedom, intuition, and letting go of expectations. We’ll provide the tools—magazines, paper scraps, glue, scissors, and more—and you bring whatever mood you’re in. Whether you're making something abstract, narrative, messy, or minimal, collage is a space to follow what feels good and see what unfolds. No experience needed, and nothing is too precious. Come as you are, play a little, and leave with whatever you made along the way. All base materials are provided, but feel free to bring anything personal you'd like to incorporate. **If you have mobility restrictions and cannot utilize stairs, please email us ASAP, and we can relocate to the main floor Free Art Saturdays are made possible through our loving community attending programs, spreading the word, and offering generous donations.

A 2-day End of Summer Art Class Monday, August18th & Tuesday, August19th 9am-1pm for kids 7-11yo** Artspace Community Arts Center, second floor (stairs**) With Instructor Chloe Torri Let's soak up the last days of summer vacation together and create some POPPIN' artwork! **We need a minimum of 6 students to run this BONUS class! Please tell your friends and register up ASAP** On this 2 day workshop kids will learn a variety of multimedia techniques with our beloved instructor and Artspace staff member, Chloe Torri. Over the 2 days we will create (at least) three artworks, experimenting with various art mediums and exploring themes of pop art. While exact projects are subject to change, Chloe is planning for the following projects: 1. Neon Art using chalk pastels and acrylic paint 2. Mixed media animal portraits 3. 3-D Doodle Bugs This workshop will be full of art-making, movement breaks, and a daily snack time.
