We’re having a party to celebrate the release of Stoned Gnome, our very first hopped “metheglin” mead. Originating in Wales, Metheglin (meh·thuh·gluhn) is a catchall term for mead made with spices and herbs. We hopped and dry-hopped Stoned Gnome with the special Ales for ALS blend of hops, and $1 per pint will support research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute. We’ll have live music with Stillwater, an acoustic country and rock trio, founded by Christina Cerbone and Sara Holmes. They bring a high energy, down-to-earth performance that invites everyone to dance and sing along. Patch Burger will be here too! The Smith Family (owners of Loftus Ranches and an owner of Yakima Chief Hops) launched the Ales for ALS program, driven by their personal experiences with ALS. Each year participating brewers receive a unique hop blend, craft a beer (or in our case, a mead), and donate a % of sales to the ALS Therapy Development Institute. Can't make it to the event, but still want to donate? https://fundraise.als.net/fourphantoms

Berkshire Choral International will present a choral-orchestral concert featuring music of two groundbreaking British composers on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 7:30 pm at Tillis Performance Hall, Bromery Center for the Arts at UMass Amherst. The program will be guest conducted by Grammy Award-nominated conductor Beth Wil. Trailblazing composer and women’s suffrage activist Dame Ethel Smyth wrote her exuberant, almost operatic Mass in D in 1891 and it was a work ahead of its time -- as was Smyth herself. Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, orchestrated by Imogen Holst, is a kaleidoscopic expression of faith with a twist. The fearless individuality of the works of these two gay composers offer a showcase for bold choral singing with full orchestra. Distinguished vocal soloists include Sarah Brailey, soprano; Clara Osowski, mezzo; Aaron Crouch, tenor; and Carl Dupont, bass
