FREE VINTAGE DAYS SHOW: Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood: Encouraging Generosity & Gratitude Stop by and introduce your little ones to the big screen with a single episode of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood where they can learn about encouraging generosity and expressing gratitude. Fred Rogers used puppets and play to explore complex social issues: race, disability, equality and tragedy, helping form the American concept of childhood. He spoke directly to children and they responded enthusiastically. Let your kids have that experience in a communal setting!
Pay What You Can: The Bicycle Thieves (1948) Vintage Days Event
Pay what you can from $0 up to $2,000. All proceeds go to the GARDEN Bike Rack Fund. 1st $500 donated matched by Outer Limits Bike & Ski Shop! Hailed around the world as one of the greatest movies ever made, the Academy Award–winning Bicycle Thieves, directed by Vittorio De Sica, defined an era in cinema. In poverty-stricken postwar Rome, a man is on his first day of a new job that offers hope of salvation for his desperate family when his bicycle, which he needs for his work, is stolen. With his young son in tow, he sets off to track down the thief. Simple in construction and profoundly rich in human insight, Bicycle Thieves embodies the greatest strengths of the Italian neorealist movement: emotional clarity, social rectitude, and brutal honesty. CAST: Lamberto Maggiorani, Enzo Staiola, Lianella Carell DIRECTOR: Vittorio De Sica RUN TIME: 89 min
