Silent film classic 'Way Down East' at Garden Cinemas on Monday, Sept. 29 D.W. Griffith blockbuster starring Lillian Gish, filmed partly in New England, to be screened with live music on National Silent FIlm Day GREENFIELD, Mass. — The iconic image of actress Lillian Gish trapped on an ice floe and headed straight for a waterfall will once again fill the big screen when 'Way Down East' (1920) is revived on Monday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Garden Cinemas, 361 Main St., Greenfield, Mass. Admission is $10.50 adults, $8:50 for children, seniors, and students. Tickets are available online or at the door. Live musical scoring will be provided by silent film accompanist Jeff Rapsis, a New Hampshire-based composer who specializes in creating scores for silent films. The screening is in honor of National Silent Movie Day, which occurs each year on Sept. 29. The movie, a blockbuster melodrama directed by D.W. Griffith, is set in old-time rural New England, and was partly filmed on location in New Hampshire and Vermont. All the President's Men (1976) In the run-up to the 1972 elections, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward covers what seems to be a minor break-in at the Democratic Party National headquarters. He is surprised to find top lawyers already on the defense case, and the discovery of names and addresses of Republican fund organizers on the accused further arouses his suspicions. The editor of the Post is prepared to run with the story and assigns Woodward and Carl Bernstein to it. They find the trail leading higher and higher in the Republican Party, and eventually into the White House itself. Our menus cater to various dietary needs and cultural cuisines with vegetarian, vegan, or meat selections. Everything we make is GLUTEN-FREE! We offer a "prix fixe" menu that typically includes an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. While guests can modify these based on dietary restrictions, there is only one option to choose from per course. Since COVID, Stone Soup Café has had to shift from a buffet-style lunch to a fixed, set menu for curbside pickup or delivery. Música Franklin is looking forward to its first Community Concert of the year, featuring a student performance and special guest Zaccai Curtis. An acclaimed pianist, composer, and bandleader of Puerto Rican and African American ancestry, Curtis was recently awarded the Best Album of Latin Jazz Grammy award for 2025. This family-friendly concert will take place at the First United Methodist Church (25 Church St. Greenfield, MA) and is free & open to the public. This program is supported in part by grants from the Greenfield and Montague Local Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, as well as National Endowment for the Arts. A three-time ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award winner, Zaccai is a prolific composer and arranger for his own groups, as well as artists like Little Johnny Rivero, Steve Kroon, Waitiki 7 and Sonido Solar. His quartet was chosen by the U.S. State Department for the American Music Abroad (Jazz Ambassadors) program twice, touring South Asia in 2006. Calling all ghosts, ghouls and friendly spirits! As part of the city’s annual holiday tradition, the Greenfield Recreation Department is throwing a downtown Halloween celebration on Friday, October 31, from 3:30pm to 7:30 p.m. The family-friendly festivities include various community-oriented events promoting the fun and creativity synonymous with Halloween. 
Presenting the monthly Handicraft Social which we’ll be hosting on the final Friday of the month at 5pm! Join us at 231 Main Street during the Arts Walk for a relaxed night of adult (18+ please) crafting and chatting. Bring something fun to do with your hands, be it knitting, sewing, drawing, sculpting, or any other project you can take along with you! Bring whatever tools/supplies you need, as this event is downstairs in the gallery and we won’t have access to the tools in the makerspace. This event is BYOB–Bring Your Own Beverage. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic are welcome. We hope to see you there!

We offer a "prix fixe" menu that typically includes an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. While guests can modify these based on dietary restrictions, there is only one option to choose from per course. Since COVID, Stone Soup Café has had to shift from a buffet-style lunch to a fixed, set menu for curbside pickup or delivery.
