Lights Camera Greenfield Kick Off
Greenfield Community Television brings back its annual film festival for a sixth year, challenging filmmakers to see just how fast creativity can move. Lights! Camera! Greenfield!, the two-week film sprint and festival, kicks off on February 9. Teams can sign up now using the Google form at https://forms.gle/V87nTWnwvqEGHmmf7. Once registered, teams will receive their prompts and jump straight into filmmaking. Each team receives two unique prompts along with one universal prompt that must appear in their film. With those elements in hand, teams have just two weeks to create a short film running four minutes or less. The sprint culminates in a public premiere on March 5 at the Greenfield Garden Cinema, located at 361 Main Street.
MassHire Franklin Hampshire Employer Spotlight: Dept. of Conservation & Recreation
Representatives from MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center will be at the Greenfield Public Library on Monday, February 9, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. They will be highlighting job opportunities with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). DCR manages state parks and oversees more than 450,000 acres throughout Massachusetts. It protects, promotes, and enhances the state’s natural, cultural, and recreational resources. The DCR is currently looking to fill positions for Lifeguards, Pool Attendants, Water Safety Instructors and Supervisors, and more! Blood Pressure Screening and Information Session
Join Valley Health Regional Collaborative Nurse Robin Neipp, in the GPL Library's Conference Room, for a free blood pressure screening and information on home monitoring correctly. High Blood Pressure may be symptomless and lead to serious health issues. Learn how to monitor your blood pressure correctly. Needleworker’s Guild: Embroidery for Everyone
Join us on Monday, February 9 at 6:00 pm, for a cozy, creative embroidery workshop that meets once a month in the GPL Makerspace! Whether you’re brand new to embroidery or already have a project underway, this is the perfect space to learn, stitch, and connect. Each session will cover essential embroidery basics—like simple stitches, hooping techniques, and finishing touches—while also giving you plenty of time to continue your own projects at a relaxed pace. Bring your own materials or borrow ours. All are welcome from beginners to pro stitchers! This month, in honor of Valentine’s Day, we’ll be making heart ornaments. Greenfield Recycling Program Information Session
Greenfield’s SWIFR Recycling Transition Team will be at the Greenfield Public Library on Monday, February 9, at 6:30 pm to provide information and answer questions about the City’s new recycling program. The team will present a short presentation on the "roll-out" status, automated recycling collection vehicles, carts, & single stream recycling. A 65 & 95 gallon cart will be present so that people can take them for a spin. The Team will show recycling videos and be available for Q&A. Not able to make it to the library? Join us via Zoom!
