“Home is a River”, Photographs by Alix Kaplan

The Greenfield Public Library welcomes photographer Alix Kaplan and their exhibit Home is a River, which will be on display in the Library’s Conference Room this April. An opening reception will be held in the Conference Room  on Wednesday, April 2, from 5:00 - 7:30 pm. Alix Kaplan grew up an only child and learned early on that the environment offers a companionship to all those who need it. They hold a degree in Environmental Studies from Tufts University and a handful of awards from film festivals for their work in animation. Alix now resides in Greenfield, MA working for a local conservation organization, Connecticut River Conservancy. Their photographs are the culmination of artistic curiosity and environmental stewardship.

Poet’s Seat Poetry Contest Celebration

Join the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library for the 34th Annual Poet’s Seat Poetry Contest celebration on Tuesday, April 29th at 6:00 pm, in the GPL Community Meeting Room. The 2025 Poet’s Seat Contest finalists will read their submissions from the three contest categories: Adult, Youth (Ages 12-14), and Youth (Ages 15-18), and winners in each category will be announced.  This contest draws poets from across Franklin County. We hope you can join us to hear their work and applaud their voices.
