The Beguiled (1971) Offbeat Civil War drama in which a wounded Yankee soldier, after finding refuge in an isolated girls' school in the South towards the end of the war, becomes the object of the young women's sexual fantasies. The soldier manipulates the situation for his own gratification, but when he refuses to completely comply with the girls' wishes, they make it very difficult for him to leave. City Heat (1984) Kansas City in 1933, Eastwood plays a police lieutenant known simply by his last name, Speer. Reynolds plays a former cop turned private eye named Mike Murphy. Both Speer and Murphy served on the force together and were once good friends, but are now bitter enemies. When Murphy's partner is slain they team up again to fight the mob. Ask Me Now – 2nd and 4th Fridays, Terrazza Banquet Room
Friday, Jan 24th 6-9pm (no cover) Vocalist, Frances Rahaim and her Ask Me Now band (James Argiro; piano, George Kaye; bass, Dominic Poccia; reeds) will be performing in Terrazza's Banquet Room at Greenfield Country Club. Come and enjoy Great American Songbook, jazz standards, blues, Brazilian, and "Sophisti-pop." The group specializes in providing music at a level that enhances the ambiance and doesn't impede conversation. Ask Me Now plays the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month (except Feb 28). Hint: Valentine's Day reservations available for "An Evening of Love Songs" and a special delicious menu. (Bassist Wes Brown joining us on Jan 24th for the evening!)
