LAVA Film Festival- 4th annual

All films were made by current residents of Massachusetts — with more than half of them hailing from Western Mass. Vintage Book Sale at Roundabout Books
Roundabout Books 85 Pierce Street, GreenfieldVintage Days, Greenfield's weekend-long festival featuring vintage events and shops, is on the horizon. Over the Vintage Days weekend (October 11-13), we'll be offering 20%-off all our books over 50 years old--which is all of our vintage book collection. The Greenfield Business Association and our fellow shop owners and community members have been adding to the event year after year, and naturally with our old shop and love of old books, we're happy to see it being cultivated and stewarded. We'd love to have you over during these beautiful fall days! As always, there will be $2 hot tea and $3 iced tea available, and you can enjoy our porch and lawn for sitting and picnicking. Greenfield’s Forgotten Silent Movie,1924 at the Greenfield Garden Cinema
Greenfield Garden Cinema 361 Main St., Greenfield"Love's Young Dream," a one-act comedy/drama produced at the Victoria Theatre in June of 1924 will be shown at Greenfield Garden Cinema. It is preceded by another (shorter) silent film – a Pathé newsreel that captured Greenfield's first Winter Festival in 1923! It is believed to be the only remaining footage of its kind and is accompanied with a silent screen virtual orchestra accompaniment in modern 5.1 theater surround stereo. The selections are from the actual orchestra score written for the screen over 100 years ago!

The Greenfield Business Association will be set up all weekend to help guide folks through Vintage Days activities and celebrate with raffle prizes and special treats. The Co-op will also have a table where you can talk to us about becoming a member or joining our Food for All or Working Member progams, and kids (or kids-at-heart) can decorate a Halloween treat bag to get ready for the holiday! Oh, and pick up a delicious cookie made from scratch in our very own bakery!

Dance Through the Decades
Dawn's School of Dance Hope Street, GreenfieldNEW Location: Dawn's School of Dance 88 Hope St. Join GCC and the Greenfield Business Association to celebrate Vintage Days and dance through the decades! From 6-7:30pm local dance teachers will provide instruction for various popular dances from the 50s to current day—then from 7:30-9pm a deejay will play favorite tunes from those decades while you dance your heart out or hang out with old and new friends. Snacks provided for everyone. Come dressed to represent your favorite decade if you’d like! Entry is $10 per person ($5 for GCC students, kids under 12 and seniors 65+).
