About This Event

Writers Read is a monthly opportunity for an audience to come and listen to local writers in an intimate environment. Each second Wednesday of the month, three writers read from their work, followed by a discussion facilitated by Lindy Whiton, designer of Writers Read. These discussions have been eye opening, touching, and inspiring. Audiences have left the venue ready to write.

Gerald Yelle has worked in restaurants, factories, schools and offices. His books include The Holyoke Diaries and Dreaming Alone and with Others. His chapbooks include “No Place I Would Rather Be” and “A Box of Rooms.” He lives in Amherst.

Marian Kelner is the author of five books of collected writing and one children’s book. She writes poetry, short stories, memoir, lists, letters, questions, and essays. Her work has been described as nourishing, humorous, insightful and “a down home banquet.”

Lilian Autler: “I have been bridging language and culture for many years in my life and work as a community development practitioner, researcher, writer, educator, and facilitator. I’ve had the opportunity to live, work and explore in many places, I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and I dance and practice yoga for comfort, inspiration and joy. In my work as an educator and artist, I strive to facilitate spaces for deep reflection and creative play where we are encouraged to express our whole selves and connect with the beings around us.”

$1-5 suggested donation, but all are welcome.
