World Labyrinth Day

About This Event
World Labyrinth Day Comes to Greenfield:
“Walk as One at 1:00”
On Saturday, May 3rd, thousands of people around the world will participate in the seventeenth annual World Labyrinth Day as a moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience. Whether you are familiar with labyrinths or are new to the idea of non-maze labyrinth paths, all are welcome to learn more and take part. All around the world people will be walking their labyrinths at 1:00 pm in their respective time zones focused on peace.
In Greenfield, the Community Labyrinth Coalition invites the public to “Walk as One at 1:00” at the local community labyrinth located on the side lawn of the Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew on 8 Church St, corner of Federal St. in Greenfield. The labyrinth itself is non-denominational.
The purpose of World Labyrinth Day is to bring people from all over the planet together in celebration of labyrinths as a symbol, tool, passion or practice. The intent is to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy from one time zone to the next around the globe.
Labyrinths are found throughout the world with the oldest dating back thousands of years. In contemporary use, labyrinths provide an opportunity for personal reflection, spiritual practice or the reduction of stress in many public and private settings. Over 6,000 labyrinths are listed on the World-Wide Labyrinth Locator website: labyrinthlocator.org. Currently there are 15,000 members from 100 different countries.
Visit worldlabyrinthday.org for more information, resources, and ways to participate.
