All day- Live Ice Carvings Downtown
Artists will be sculpting ice throughout the day in front of our downtown sponsoring businesses. Vote for your favorite in our online contest by 10:00 am on Sunday, February 8th.
2:00 pm-5:00 pm Hot Chocolate and Board Game Social at the Library
Coming downtown for Greenfield’s Winter Carnival? Stop by the library’s community meeting room to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa, play one of their many board games, and catch up with friends and neighbors.
3:00 pm-5:00 pm Carnival Crafts at the Library
Drop by the Library to make a Yeti Valentine in the Children’s room or a Yeti Snow Globe in the Teen Makerspace.
4:00 pm Torch Lighting
A celebratory torch provided by Suburban Propane will be lit on City Common to mark the beginning of the 104th Annual Winter Carnival.
4:00 pm-8:00 pm Downtown Defrost
The GBA heats up the top of Miles Street during the Parade of Lights. Gather around the fire barrels to watch the parade go by and make a s’more with your neighbor, share in good company, and enjoy some warmth in the midwinter!
4:00 pm-9:00 pm Winter Carnival Dark Beer Fest at Four Phantoms Brewing Company
Join Four Phantoms Brewing Company for a special tasting experience that delves into the deeper, darker side of brewing. Embrace the chill of early February with their curated tasting flight and banish the winter blues.
5:30 pm-7:00 pm Beacon Field Warm Up
Join us at Beacon Field for sledding, music by DJ Jason Antes, and a warming fire as you await the arrival of the Parade of Lights and the launch of the Fireworks.
6:00 pm – Parade of Lights
Kick-off the festival with displays that will surely light up the night! Decorated vehicles will travel from Newton School, along Main Street, down Federal Street, on to Beacon Street, and
ending at Beacon Field. Lighted vehicle entries are needed. Entries will be judged with prizes awarded in multiple categories. See website for complete rules and application. Whether you are in the parade or just observing, it’s an event you won’t want to miss!
6:00 pm-7:45 pm Family Night at the Y
It’s Family Night at the Y! Jump, splash, and play your way through an evening of game room fun, gym activities including a bounce house and indoor gaga ball, family swim, and gymnastics excitement.

6:30 pm Game Night with the Fox Hill Board Game Club at Four Phantoms Brewing
Board games are best paired with winter weather! Meet some friendly, fun-loving people at this beer and board game social and enjoy access to Fox Hill’s huge library of games plus delicious food and beer.
7:00 pm Fireworks Display
The kick-off continues at Beacon Field for a dazzling Fireworks Display shot from Poet’s Seat Tower. It’s a display that’s sure to captivate all ages.
