Voices from the Fields community read-around [indiVISIBLE]

indivisible-2024

About This Event

As part of our current exhibit indiVISIBLE, The LAVA Center invites you to a community read-around. Come to listen or come to read words of agricultural workers featured in the indiVISIBLE project who speak of why they made the often perilous journey to the United States, what they left behind and how they have learned to make lives for themselves in Western Massachusetts. In addition, there will be words from agricultural activists who have led and continue to lead campaigns for fair pay, humane working conditions, dignity for agricultural workers and stewardship of the land in the United States and in India.

This event is part of LAVA’s programming to accompany the extension of indiVISIBLE, the gallery exhibit documenting and celebrating Western Mass Agricultural Workers. indiVISIBLE is supported by a grant awarded by Mass Humanities with funding from the Barr Foundation, and by grants from The Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice and Greening Greenfield.
