Stephen King Book Discussion
About This Event
Are you a Stephen King Fan?
This September, we are joining the Greenfield Garden Cinema in celebrating Stephen King all month long. They’ve got the movies, we’ve got the books! Stop by and pick up a copy of one of his works before (or after) you go to the Stephen King Film Festival.
Join us for our special Stephen King Book discussion where we will discuss Stephen King’s works. We will start with a look at his collection Different Seasons, followed by a chat about his other works, as we explore the age- old question, which is better: the book or the movie? Light refreshments will be served.
Different Seasons is a collection of four Stephen King novellas with a more dramatic bent, rather than the horror fiction for which King is famous. The four novellas are tied together via subtitles that relate to each of the four seasons. The collection is notable for having three out of its four novellas turned into Hollywood films: The Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me, and The Apt Pupil.
Copies of Different Seasons and other Stephen King novels are available at the library.
For more information, contact Pamela McBride at [email protected], or call (413) 772-1544.
This program, generously sponsored by the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for ages 16+.
