Sharing Your Yard with Birds | Greening Greenfield

GG- Bird Talk with Pat Serrentino

About This Event

This event will be the second in a series of talks on Supporting Birds in Our Community organized by Greening Greenfield.

Greenfield ecologist, Pat Serrentino, will focus on the various actions that residents / homeowners can take to not only attract birds to their backyards, but keep them safe and healthy too. These actions will range from the simple to the more time-consuming; from providing water, bird houses, preventing birds from striking windows, and decreasing the use of pesticides. The talk will emphasize that small actions can result in big outcomes!

Patricia Serrentino has a B.S. and M.Sc. in Biology and has studied wildlife and their habitats in New England for over 40 years. Her interests include breeding bird studies, invasive plants, and vernal pool ecology. Since arriving in Greenfield over 30 years ago, she has worked to transform her small backyard into a haven for birds and other wildlife.
“Pat Serrentino has much knowledge and experience about what it takes to create a bird-friendly space,” said Dorothea Sotiros of Greening Greenfield. “I look forward to learning how to make my home more of a sanctuary for birds.”
