Local Author talk with Doug Selwyn
About This Event
The Greenfield Public Library welcomes local author Doug Selwyn to discuss The Schools We Want for Our Children; For All of Our Children.
The focus of this evening will be on the schools that we want for all of our children. Doug will be reading from his work but, most importantly, this will be a conversation about what matters most in the education of our young people as they move into their (and our) future. What do they need to know, what do we need them to know, and how can we be part of helping that to happen.
Doug Selwyn taught in K-12 education for 14 years, and then taught at the University level in teacher education until 2017, when he retired from his position as professor of education at the State University of NY at Plattsburgh. He has written several books on education, writes a monthly education column for the Greenfield Recorder, and is chair of the FCCPR education task force.
Books will be available for purchase from the author at this event.
This program, made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and open to all.
