Greenfield’s Forgotten Silent Movie,1924 ~ Saturday Morning
“Love’s Young Dream,” a one-act comedy/drama produced at the Victoria Theatre in June of 1924 will be shown at Greenfield Garden Cinema. It is preceded by another (shorter) silent film – a Pathé newsreel that captured Greenfield’s first Winter Festival in 1923! A brief documentary describes the recent discovery of these films by the Greenfield Historical Society, a behind-the-scenes look at what they found and how they went about producing a modern video for the Theater. It is believed to be the only remaining footage of its kind and is accompanied with a silent screen virtual orchestra accompaniment in modern 5.1 theater surround stereo. The selections are from the actual orchestra score written for the screen over 100 years ago
