GPL Presents: Minecraft for the Atari Generation
About This Event
Do your kids play Minecraft…or watch others play on YouTube? Are you concerned with their sudden obsession? Does it feel like they’re speaking a foreign language? Are you flummoxed by the cubist screen?
If yes, this is the program for you!
Get a basic Minecraft primer via Zoom! Experienced gamer Julian Butcher will walk us briefly through the game’s origins, history, and objectives. You’ll gain an understanding of Minecraft terms like bedrock, java, mods, and skins, and become familiar with the creative and educational possibilities of the game. Learn how to safely shepherd your children’s Minecraft adventures and discover useful resources for further family investigations and fun! Presented by Wayland Public Library staff member Julian Butcher, who has (too much) experience playing Minecraft and other video games.
This program is free, but preregistration is required. Register for the Zoom link at tinyurl.com/wfpl-minecraft
This program will not be recorded.
This program, organized by the Wayland Public Library, is free and open to the public.
