
Finding Home: A Local Author Talk with Mara Bright

GPL is pleased to welcome local poet Mara Bright on Thursday, June 18 at 2:30 pm,for an author talk about her new book Finding Home.
The poems in Finding Home explore both our relationship to the natural world and our connection to each other and to ourselves. Spanning thirty years, they represent different aspects of the author’s life.
Bright worked as a high school English teacher and later as an elementary school library media specialist. She wrote for the children’s magazines Calliope, Faces, and Cobblestone and for School Library Journal, as well as for local publications. A selection of her poems appears in Bone Cages, an anthology of poetry published by Haley’s. Her memoir The Constant Heart was published by Levellers Press.
