David Detmold: “Keeping the People Alive” – local author reading
About This Event
David Detmold will read from his new book, Keeping the People Alive, Reflections from a Bicycle Journey through Native Homelands on the Columbia Plateau at the LAVA Center, 324 Main Street, Greenfield, on Friday, March 27th, at 6:30 p.m., in conjunction with the LAVA Center’s open gallery hours that same evening from 5 to 8 pm.
“Writing a book-length examination on the state of Native People,” in Eastern Washington and the Idaho panhandle, “has brought to light Detmold’s talent for creating prose that is often closer to poetry than journalism and history allow,” writes Montague author Richard Andersen. Detmold is founding editor of the Montague Reporter and coordinator of changethemassflag.com
Please join us to celebrate the publication of Detmold’s book, available from Off the Common Books, an imprint of the Florence-based worker-owned Levellers Press, and from Unnameable Books, 66 Avenue A, in Great Falls.
